Dr. Yousafzai’s work focuses on:Developing new interventions and approaches to promote early child development with a particular interest in how to strengthen child and caregiving related outcomes through existing health, nutrition and education systems.Understanding the implementation structures and processes for early childhood interventions to achieve sustainable impact at-scale.Promoting capacity development in local communities, services and systems for the effective delivery of interventions to promote early child development.She has extensive experience in evaluating early childhood interventions in south Asia, east Africa, and in central and east Europe. Gary Zackowitz is a Program Officer with the Office of Biodefense Research Affairs in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the NIH. Gary is a registered architect with 30 years' experience in private sector and government facility design specializing in research and health care facilities. As a NIAID Program Officer, he oversees the planning and construction of several Extramural BSL3 and BSL4 Biocontainment Laboratories across the nation as part of the NIAID Biodefense Agenda. Ellen Zane is a nationally renowned health care leader who retired as President & Chief Executive Officer of Tufts Medical Center and Tufts Children’s Hospital (formerly Floating Hospital for Children) in late 2011. She was the first woman to run the hospital in its 229-year history. The hospital employs more than 6,000 doctors, nurses, researchers, and other healthcare workers.
